Expression systems

Based on a flexible platform, our molecular biology department carries out all the downstream steps of viral vector production, and this, from a GenBank accession number or a plasmid vector carrying your gene of interest. If necessary, we perform, as well, isolation of your gene of interest from cDNA library, tissues, cells, etc.

To accelerate the cloning step, we have developed a set of ready-to-use plasmids for viral vector production. These plasmids are specially engineered for the most usual applications:

  • Over expression (cDNA)
  • Silencing (shRNA)
  • Constitutive or inducible expression
  • Promoter cloning
  • Multicistronic expression

Our stock products can express reporter or selection genes. If you have developed your own construct, we can manufacture the corresponding vectors for you on a totally custom base.

A demanding quality control procedure is set up including validation of the vector and sequencing of the inserted sequence. These procedures allow us to guaranty our vector is perfectly identical to your query.

All the genetic elements (cDNA, promoters, shRNA, plasmids...) provided by our customers remain the exclusive property of our clients.

Bioinformatics

Vectalys carries out the preliminary bibliographic and/or bioinformatic studies of your gene expression or silencing project. We provide customized solutions, adapted to your specific needs.

  • We can help you to define and analyze target gene(s), and to provide detailed gene study (alternative transcripts, homology, similarity search, expression pattern, SNP ...).
  • You can benefit from our expertise in the design of customized expression cassette: promoters, multicistronic and inducible systems, and different reporter genes.
  • If you are interested in gene silencing, we offer our know-how about shRNA. You can benefit from our in-house shRNA design pipeline, which takes into account thermodynamic parameters and target mRNA secondary structure in addition to usual efficacy and specificity criteria
  • We can also provide a specific assistance in order to define the expression cassette and the cloning strategy.
